About

Dr. Åsa Hidmark

I am a biologist with over twenty years in laboratory science, primarily immunology. My career has moved from the bench to building AI-assisted tools for scientific review—but always with the same goal: making sure conclusions follow from evidence.

I developed the review pipelines that power Bio-AI-Logic. These systems analyze manuscripts structurally—examining methods, figures, and data before engaging with narrative claims. The approach comes from years of reviewing experimental designs and asking: does this control actually test what it claims to test?

Background

Research and teaching

My research background is in immunology—the interplay of innate and adaptive immunity, inflammation, and metabolic disease. I have worked at Scripps Research Institute (USA), Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), Heidelberg University, and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ).

I spent years teaching in higher education, which shaped how I think about experimental logic. When you have to explain why a control matters to students who haven't internalized it yet, you learn to articulate the reasoning precisely. That skill now informs how I build review systems.

I am fluent in English, Swedish, and German, and conversational in French.

Personal

Life outside work

I live near Heidelberg with my family and animals—horses, dogs, and the occasional foster creature. The Swedish archipelago is where I reset; it appears in the photos throughout this site. The stillness there is good for thinking clearly, which turns out to be useful when building systems meant to catch unclear thinking in others.
